Looking for a new electric range? There are so many models and makes to choose from it can be overwhelming. Where do you start and when do you know when to stop? I spent months researching every make and model I could find online and in stores. So much so the store employees knew me by name and hid when they saw me coming. My final decision?
The Kitchenaid Electric Range KESS908SPS with ceramic cook top and convection oven. I love it!!! It fits perfectly into the space in my kitchen and integrates smoothly with my counter tops. The stainless steel finish looks sleek and modern, although it is easily sullied by little fingers. The ceramic top is black and modern in design. It allows for effortless cleaning and a feeling that you have no nooks and crannies holding food and dust particles. I am a bit of a clean freak so this makes me feel like I have done a thorough job cleaning.
The burners are easy to regulate and I have been encouraged to cook more and more. They have the accuracy and short response time of a gas burner, without the hazards of an open flame. You have two cooking options on the cook top. The double ring elements are designed for slower cooking, simmering and warming. The triple ring elements can be used for frying, boiling and searing of food. This allows you the ultimate in flexibility when preparing food much to the delight of my family.
I have enjoyed using the large convection oven for roasting and baking. The convection feature allows you to cook so much faster and efficiently than the old radiant heat method. Since my new range was installed I don't have to rotate my cookie trays or risk the back ones burning and the front ones remaining raw in the middle. The convection heat is even through the entire oven.
There is even a warming draw that I love for bread, plates and sides. It is so nice to serve my family a big home cooked meal with no cold dishes. When you are done cooking the oven has an energy efficient self clean option. Cleaning is so easy your oven and cook top will look like you just installed it for many many years. It is worth noting that you should continue to use the cleaning products supplied with your range. You will find them with your user manual. This will protect your ceramic top and prevent scratching and marring on the surface.
